Custom Framed - Tiger - ORIGINAL ART - COMIC STRIP DAILY - HAND SIGNED and notated by BUD BLAKE. This is the original art from the daily strip, dated 04/26/1989. Actual art size is approximately 13" x 4". Tiger was an American comic strip created by cartoonist Bud Blake. It ran from May 3, 1965 until 2004. Launched May 3, 1965, the strip about a group of suburban boyhood pals was distributed by King Features Syndicate to 400 newspapers worldwide at its peak.
Blake drew the strip until he was 85, two years before his death on December 26, 2005. Asked if he could continue to produce the strip, Blake told an interviewer, "Sure, I could keep doing it. But I can’t. I’ve had enough." After Blake retired, the strip continued to appear as reprints, and as of December 2005, according to the syndicate, Tiger was running in more than 100 newspapers in 11 countries. Included with the framed original art is the original hand written and HAND SIGNED charity auction donation letter, on Bud Blake's letterhead. The handwritten letter is a unique collectible in it's own right. The letter we show in the photos has some specific information digitally blacked out to protect the Addressee and Addressor, as well as keep some information confidential to protect the authenticity of the letter and the artwork. The actual original letter, which you will receive with purchase does not have the black mark-outs on it. The letter itself has some unique markings on it that we believe the Buyer will enjoy, not to mention the original signature and the provenance declaration for the artwork itself.
