Andy Capp - ORIGINAL ART - HAND SIGNED by REG SMYTHE. This is original art from a daily strip from 1989. Reg Smythe (1917-1998) created the Andy Capp comic strip for the Daily Mirror in 1957. In 1960, Smythe became a founding member of the Cartoonists Club of Great Britain.
Andy Capp became an icon of the British working class and was hugely popular. The cartoon successfully reached 50 countries and was printed in some 700 newspapers.
In this three panel comic strip, Andy Capp is shown with his trademark plaid cap. Set in Capp's local pub. Strip is attached to foam board, ready to be framed. Photos are actual pictures of art for sale.
